As part of the sign up you are offered the option of taking out 3rd party race insurance for a small additional fee. This is a contract between you the participant and the insurance company and is processed with them direct. The 3rd party event insurance allows you to reclaim a refund if you are unable to race and fall outside our policy as explained above. Before taking out the third party insurance it is important to fully read the insurance terms and conditions and decide for yourself if there is a benefit to taking the insurance out. For example, if you were to make a claim on the insurance the third party insurance company will ask you to provide evidence (such as a doctors note) and it is important to way up the cost of providing the evidence (price of the Drs note) against the cost of the event and in many of the cheaper races it may be more beneficial for you to stick with our cancellation policy (T&Cs above).

There are cut off times at various checkpoints. If you miss the cut off times, then you will be retired from the event. If you are doubtful of weather, you can reach the cut off times for an event you should enter a shorter course- or recce the first sections to check!
14)- What is the terrain like and what type of trainers should I wear?
The terrain is mountain trail. This means it combines grassy trails, hard rock trails, with some muddy sections.
The best type of trainer for the Brecon Beacons route would be a trail trainer which is comfortable on hard trail but with good - to - excellent grip for the downhills depending on the forecast.
If there is a lot of rain in the preceding days then a more aggressive trail trainer with better grip would be best.
A full fellrunning shoe would be ideal or a trail trainer with very good grip. A road shoe would be unsuitable for most of the more technical and muddy sections especially on the descents near cliffs and therefore you would not be allowed to race in them.

It can only be viewed by importing it onto a gps device (eg Garmin Fenix, Suunto Ambit etc) or by viewing it using a computer program that will access the information.

In both cases you should inform checkpoint staff of your decision to change routes. Do not leave the checkpoint until staff have confirmed this. Please note that you will be presented with a medal when you finish but will not get a medal to take home at the finish and we will order you one after the event to make sure that no one misses out!
You can not enter a shorter race and upgrade to a longer distance.
22)- Support runners
Support runners or pacers are allowed on the course for the 100k & Ultra race only and are only allowed after 9pm on Saturday evening. Your support runner can only run with you but they cannot carry any of your kit. Are no other times are support runners acceptable.
23)- Supporters and race crew
We know a lot of you will have supporters coming for the weekend and this is great
news! However, not all checkpoints can be accessed as they are remote with poor access -
we must keep these clear for emergency vehicles and event traffic.

not will be sent out with the pre-event race notes. Please ensure your supporters / crew are aware of these before race day.
