Pembrokeshire Coastal Races - Trail and Ultra Running Festival
5th - 7th June 2026

Discover one of the UK’s most awe-inspiring trail running experiences on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (PCP) — a designated National Trail tracing "Britain’s most breath taking coastline".  With its dramatic cliff tops, secluded coves, sweeping beaches and winding estuaries, the PCP offers a truly unforgettable journey for any trail or ultra runner.

Choose your challenge from four epic distances, each finishing in the beautiful cliff top campsite of Dale, overlooking Milford Sound.

100-mile ultra – St Dogmaels to Dale (160 km / 6,300m gain)
50-mile ultra – Porthgain to Dale (80 km / 2,850m gain)
50K ultra – St David’s to Dale (50 km / 1,850m gain)
22-mile trail race – Newgale to Dale (35 km / 1,150m gain)

Whether you're a seasoned ultra runner or a trail enthusiast looking for your next big adventure, the Pembrokeshire Coast awaits. Rugged, raw and relentlessly beautiful — this is a race you'll never forget.

The Routes
All races follow the Pembrokeshire and Wales Coast Path

100 Mile Ultra
Set against the rugged backdrop of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path’s wild northern section, this 100 mile ultra is a true test of endurance and spirit.  Starting in St Dogmaels, just outside Cardigan, the route traces some of the most exposed and spectacular sections of the coastline — a dramatic mix of cliff-top trails, sea birds, wildflowers, seaside villages and turquoise-blue sea.  With over 6,000 meters of ascent, this race presents an unforgettable challenge.  Every mile offers a new vista, a new obstacle and a deeper connection to one of Britain’s most unspoiled and iconic landscapes.  If you’re looking for a raw, beautiful and brutally rewarding coastal adventure this is it.

50 Mile Ultra
Starting in the morning in the picturesque harbour village of Porthgain, the 50 mile route offers a challenging but rewarding coastal trail running experience.  Stunning views, rolling and varied terrain but with a time limit that allows for a tough but fair challenge.  It’s also an ideal race to bring supporters and family — with numerous beaches, onsite camping and food and drink at the event base - there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy while cheering you on!

50K Ultra
The 50K Ultra starts in the historic cathedral city of St Davids and features 1,850m of ascent, making it an excellent choice for runners looking to step up from gentler routes or those chasing a fast, scenic day on the coast!  The route offers a perfect balance of challenge and speed, with spectacular sea views and rugged trails — ideal for finishing strong and making it back in time for the legendary afterparty!!

22 Mile Trail
The 22 Mile Race starts on the expansive sands of Newgale Beach and joins the other 3 races,  winding past dramatic bays, cliff tops, and offering stunning views across to Skomer and Skokholm Islands.  With over 1,150m of ascent, it is an exciting challenge — yet thanks to its generous cut-off times, it is accessible to anyone ready to take the next step in their trail running journey.

All races give you the opportunity to camp in an exclusive area of Pembrokeshire with your family, running club, or running companions, making it a great place to spend the weekend - whatever distance you decide to take on.

Map and Gps
An interactive map and gps file is available at the links at the bottom of this page.
To download the gps click on 'actions', then 'export' and follow the onscreen prompts.

Navigation
All routes follow the marked Pembrokeshire Coast Path and Wales Coast Path signs along the entire route. Whilst the event is self navigation, it is very well marked on well maintained paths.  It is possible to navigate the route completely using the Coast Path signs, but all competitors will also be provided with a gps trace to aid navigation.  Any particularly tricky or difficult sections or areas where you must leave the coast path (e.g. into checkpoints) will have extra running markers, marshals and flags.

Checkpoints
There are:-
12 checkpoints for the 100 mile race
7 checkpoints for the 50 mile race
5 checkpoints for the 50k race
3 checkpoints for the 22 mile race

In addition the 100 mile runners have 3 drop bags and the 50 mile runners 1 drop bag.
